K9-SNAP
Have you been meaning to get your dog or puppy fixed but keep putting it off because other expenses keep getting in the way? If so, the Save A Buddy Fund “CANINE SPAY NEUTER ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (K9-SNAP)” may be able to help. We are offering Manistee County dog owners spay-neuter vouchers to help offset some of the cost of spaying-neutering their dogs/puppies.
VOUCHERS ARE VALID FOR BOTH MALES AND FEMALES
What exactly is K9-SNAP?
K9-SNAP provides spay-neuter assistance for any breed/mixed breed dog or puppy, both males and females. However if you have a pit or pit mix please apply for a “Pit Stop Program” voucher instead of K9-SNAP as we are offering an extra financial spay-neuter incentive for pits and pit mixes.
What is the time frame for getting my dog/puppy fixed?
K9-SNAP spay-neuter vouchers are valid for 6 months from the issue date.
Who is eligible to apply for financial assistance?
Any Manistee County resident may apply for a K9-SNAP voucher and there are no income restrictions to qualify. We are happy to help any dog owner who requests assistance as long as we have funds available. The value of your voucher will depend on the vet you go to, whether your dog is a male or female and how much your dog weighs.. You may also combine our vouchers with any assistance you receive from other spay-neuter organizations (click here for information on other spay-neuter organizations).
Do I have to go to a certain vet?
Pet owners may use the vet of their choice as long as the vet is willing to accept our vouchers. If your vet is not listed as one of our participating vets, please contact us and we will get in touch with your vet to see if they would like to participate in our K9-SNAP.
How is K9-SNAP being funded?
We rely on donations and grants to fund K9-SNAP. The Save A Buddy Fund is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and donations are greatly needed and very much appreciated!!
